Spring hasn’t arrived just yet, but with warmer weather and blooming flowers, it’s the perfect time to appreciate this simple yet beautiful poem about spring by 孟浩然 (Mèng Hàorán). This poem, #232 in the 300 Tang Poems collection [1], captures the essence of the beginning of the spring season.

Spring morning arrives without my knowing, chūn mián bù jué xiǎo 春眠不觉晓, 春眠不覺曉,

After a night of wind and rain, yè lái fēng yǔ shēng 夜来风雨声, 夜來風雨聲,
